On September 2 Google+ users are marking the annual US/ Canadian holiday of Labor Day. The holiday, which falls on the first Monday of September, was originally conceived to mark and promote the social and economic achievements and rights of American workers, much in the way other countries adopted May 1. Nowadays the holiday has a much more corporate feel with many retailers holding sales across the weekend prior.
Elsewhere on Google+ the latest updates to Apple's TV service, Apple TV is causing a stir after the company announced the addition of several channels. Among the new channels added to Apple TV are two Disney channels and the documentary-focused Smithsonian Channel; additionally Apple TV owners will now also receive the music video subscription service Vevo. ??
