Activity in Eagle Ford, other shales fuels Wood Group?s growth

Wood Group's annualized revenues from shale plays ? including the Eagle Ford Shale ? reached $500 million.

Houston-based Wood Group?s annualized revenue from shale plays such as South Texas? Eagle Ford have expanded to $500 million, officials said in an operations update.

Together, the company?s Wood Group Mustang and Wood Group PSN units now employ 2,500 personnel in engineering, operations and maintenance positions in U.S. shales, officials say.

Wood Group Mustang operates gathering pipelines and other midstream facilities in a number of the US shale plays. Among its recent projects, the company automated a chemical injection system for wells in the Eagle Ford.

Wood Group PSN, which specializes in production services, boosted its presence in the Eagle Ford last year with its acquisition of Kenedy-based Duval, a provider of oilfield maintenance and installation services.

?Shale production is significantly changing the global energy market,? Wood Group CEO Bob Keiller said in a written statement.
