Auto loan rates were down slightly in Bankrate's national survey this week.
Average rates for 60-month and 48-month new-car loans each dropped 1 basis point to 4.11 percent and 4.03 percent, respectively.
For used cars, the average rate on a 36-month loan gave up 1 basis point to 4.7 percent.
Asian brands dominated the 2013 Consumer Reports Car Brand Report Card announced this week. Toyota's luxury nameplate Lexus took top honors, with each of its models earning a "recommended" tag from the influential consumer magazine. Subaru and Mazda were tied for second, thanks to their stable of models with good handling, fuel economy, versatility and affordable price tags.
